Printing partners

When I was printing the first samples of Ethics Litmus Tests and working through choices like paper stock, finish and weight, I was also looking for a printer who shared a focus on sustainability and environmentally responsible printing.

I ended up selecting Black Rainbow Printers, est. 1987, who have an impressive track record in this sector. In addition to having a broad range of excellent recycled stock available, Black Rainbow:

• Uses non-toxic environmentally friendly inks

• Offsets their power use with solar panels on-site

• Uses very little water in their printing process

• Reduces their waste and recycles as much as possible

Also - as someone coming from primarily a digital background and not very familiar with print - they were very patient and helpful in supporting me through the process. The reality is that print is a tough business with shrinking margins, I imagine more so now during COVID. For businesses doing small runs like me you don’t expect to get much support - so I was doubly appreciative of their excellent staff.
